You guys! Can you believe it’s that time of year again? I’m so excited to do another favorites post, because I have quite a few things to add. If you want to compare this year’s to last year’s here’s the link to the old one. I’m not even going to make this intro super detailed because I’m THAT excited!
L’Oreal Voluminous Feline Mascara
Okay, first we’re starting with a cosmetic product. Y’all know I’m picky about my mascara for reasons explained in other posts (TL;DR: Oily skin + flaky mascara = raccoon under-eyes). I got this as a full-size sample in my RachhLoves Fall Favourites Top Box. I usually wear their Telescopic mascara which does wonders for length, but lacks in volume. The Feline mascara is the answer to that. It seriously does what it advertises which is adding length and volume. #YAAASSSS!!
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-In-1 Makeup Remover & Cleanser
I bought this in a travel/sample size from Target after I watched Amy Macedo’s nighttime oily skin routine video. I’ve gotten into the habit of trying to find sample/travel sizes of products I want to try to prevent waste and money-loss if I don’t like it. I’ve been using this when I wear makeup, and it’s equally fascinating and disgusting to see how much makeup my wipes miss. I’m still trying to establish a regular skincare routine, so this little step is a big one for me, and it’s one I will be buying in full-size when I’m done.
Split Back Tunic Top | Torrid
Where has the tunic and leggings combination been all my life?! This top has got to be one of the most comfortable things I own. Seriously, I freaking love it. It’s so soft and lightweight, and I love the higher scoop-neck (dare I say I’m getting tired of V-necks). Sometimes you just don’t want the whole world seeing your usually-hard-to-hide cleavage. My only complain is that the split in the back is so high that I have to wear a tank top underneath, which, when it’s warm outside (always in Texas) kind of sucks having to wear an extra layer.
Yes, I am aware that GG has been around a long time. Yes, I did watch it (though not in its entirety) when it originally aired. Yes, I have been binge-watching it these last few weeks. Honestly, once I finished all of Friends, I tried to pick up other shows, but few things bring me comfort like Stars Hollow does. I’m at the beginning of season four, but I’ll update you all when I get done with it. At this rate, that should be around Christmastime, if we’re including the new series.
Virtual Running Clubs
Currently I am a member of three virtual running clubs. What is a virtual running club you ask? A VRC is a group of runners of all stages that sponsor virtual races with the money raised going to charity. Think of any other race/run but with the added bonus of being able to do your run anywhere, at any pace, and in however many different increments best fit your needs. So far I’ve run three races with Hogwarts Running Club, one with Stars Hollow Running Club, and one with Whovian Running Club. It’s a great way to get exercise, but really I just do it for the medals. And the charity. There are a lot of different VRC’s out there all based on different interests, so if you’re looking for an excuse to run, jog, or walk, this is a great one. Plus most, if not all, of them are also on Charity Miles, so you get even more of an excuse to do good.
Skullcandy INK’D 2 Earbuds
Somehow my other Skullcandy earbuds magically disappeared (*cough* SHANE! *cough*), so I went to Target to get some cheap-o ones so I could listen to music while working out. I made the mistake of getting some stupid Sony ones and they were terrible. There was NO bass and most of my workout playlist is very bass-heavy. I went back a few days later and bought these headphones and I will never go back to anything except Skullcandy again. I’ve been spoiled.
Sodastream Source Sparkling Water Maker
This is a brand new one. I just bought this for Shane for our anniversary and it’s so freaking cool. First, it requires zero electricity. Second, compared to the size of the box it comes in, it takes up very little counter space. Third, it’s so easy to use! Lastly, the syrups are actually pretty good. I also love that they waste vs. amount of soda you can make is very minimal, especially considering how much soda Shane goes through in one day.
Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Apple Snack Sticks
It’s not that these are the most amazing things I’ve eaten, they’re just so addicting! They’re super satisfyingly crunchy, and they’ve got just enough cinnamon apple flavor that you get the taste of it without feeling guilty. The texture is that of those veggie straws that are super popular. If you’re not good at portion control straight out of the bag, you’re going to want to go ahead and portion some out before you start eating them, because you won’t stop.
Mini Fudge Pies
This is a recipe that made Shane and me freak out. I got the recipe from my friend Sara’s baking blog, and could not wait to make it. It’s so good and easy to make and can only be accurately described as a thick brownie batter pie. The graham cracker crust is a nice offset to the richness of the filling. Plus, it involves one of my favorite fall/winter activities: BAKING!
So that’s pretty much it. I might do a late fall/winter favorites list if enough things change by November/December, but what are you loving right now? I’d love to know! Leave me a comment down below so I can check out some of your favorites.
