Fall Favorites, My Favorites

2016 Favorites

This year I’ve made quite a few “favorites” lists, and I’m really glad I did. I love reading favorites lists because it usually encourages me to try something new, or it gives me insight on a product I wouldn’t have otherwise bought for whatever reason.

To wrap up 2016 in a positive way, I wanted to cultivate a list of my favorite of my favorites. I did notice that it’s mostly things that Shane bought for me as a gift, but that only adds to the reasons it’s on the list.

I’m not going into much detail about each item, and instead will just link the blog post on which it was originally featured in the header of each item. You’ll notice that a lot of the links open the same page, but that’s because they were featured in the same post originally. Also, these are in no particular order. They’re all my favorites for different, non-comparable reasons.

ASICS® Women’s GEL-Excite™ 3 Running Shoes

These have gotten me through many a workout this past year. I was pretty nervous about switching from my trusted Adidas, but I’m so glad I did. Will definitely be buying a new pair in the coming year.

ASUS Transformer Book Flip 2-In-One Notebook PC

It’s been a lifesaver this year. This has so much more memory than my last computer, not to mention all the added features.

Epson Expression Home XP-320 Small-in-One® All-in-One Printer

You guys! I finally used this to print photos, and holy crap it’s amazing. The pictures are incredible. Seriously, the days of paying and waiting for someone else to print crappy quality versions of my pictures are over! I also finally tried the scan function, and found that it was such a good, crisp, high quality scan. I scanned a picture of myself from when I was probably 3 or 4, and there was a part of the photo that had been ripped (it’s the original print of the original photo. I’m 26 now; I’ll let you do the math) and was able to fix it up just like new. Maybe I’ll post it on my Instagram sometime.

#GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso

I reread this book at LEAST twice a year. It’s my go-to for inspiration and motivation. It will never get old for me.

Samsung Galaxy S7

I feel like this one really doesn’t need describing. It’s perfect. Period.

Kuumba Made Fragrance Oils

Originally it was just the Persian Garden scent, but now I’m adding the Vanilla Bean scent, because it’s magnificent.

Garnier Micellar Water

Still perfect. I even have a convert. The end.

Torrid Split Back Tunic Top

I actually just wore this with my floral leggings from the same Torrid order for Christmas because it was the most comfortable outfit I own.

Virtual Running Clubs

I honestly wouldn’t have logged as many miles this year as I have because of these. I plan on starting the Couch to 10K program soon to finish my miles for my Gallifrey 10K (Whovian Running Club) and Platform 9 3/4K (Hogwarts Running Club). Just the motivation I need.

Skullcandy Ink’d 2 Earbuds

Let me start this out by saying that Shane did NOT steal my other pair of Skullcandy earbuds. I left them at Kristin’s when I spent the night. Sorry, Shane. That being said, I’m still in love with these. I use them for everything.

VIZIO D-series 39″ Class Full Array LED Smart TV & Winegard FlatWave Amplified Digital Indoor HD TV Antenna

I was using my old, cumbersome projection TV from 2006 in the bedroom and having to constantly switch back and forth between the Wii (for Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Video) and the DVD player. It was a pain in the ass to have to plug and unplug the cords from the TV and the outlet. First world problems, I know. We got a smart TV to avoid that problem, and then I used a gift card to purchase a flat wave antenna and it was absolutely one of my favorite purchases of the year. Now I can watch football games, old sitcom reruns, and PBS. I’m actually most excited about being able to watch PBS. The new season of Sherlock airs on New Year’s Day and Shane and I will actually be able to watch it when it airs instead of having to wait for it to come on Netflix.

That’s it! That’s my grand list of my favorite things of 2016. It’s been a pretty crappy year in general, but I’ve had some incredible experiences and formed relationships with some amazing people this year that I would never give up.

I hope the end of 2016 finds you well, and 2017 holds all the magic of your dreams.
