I absolutely love seeing the fall bucket list infographics that make their way around Instagram and Pinterest every year; they remind me of all my favorite things about the season and bring me a level of joy and excitement that no season (except Christmas) brings.
That being said, there are always a handful of things on those lists that I either can’t do because of where I live, or they’re things I do every year and don’t feel them necessary to add to such lists (I mean, I definitely don’t need to be reminded to decorate for fall/Halloween – have you met me?)In no particular order, here is my official Cupcake Rising Fall Bucket List.
Make Apple/Pumpkin Donuts
I found a few recipes on Pinterest, and I’d prefer to bake them (instead of frying them) since I bought this cute donut pan last year that I have yet to use.
Make a New Pumpkin Recipe
There’s always pumpkin recipes floating around the internet, and the list on my Pinterest is growing much more rapidly than I can get to. And of course, I’ve just added another one to my list.
Make a Pumpkin Pie from Scratch… including the Pumpkin
I’m always fascinated by the idea of homesteading, so when I was going through my homesteading phase a few years ago, I saw plenty of recipes for homemade pumpkin puree around the holidays. I’m determined to make my own this year.
See the Pumpkin Village at the Dallas Arboretum
On September 22, the Dallas Arboretum opens their 13th annual Pumpkin Village. I’ve always wanted to go because how can fall lovers argue about seeing pumpkin houses!? Plus this year, the theme is The Adventures in Neverland.
Go to the State Fair of Texas
This is kind of a cheater one, because I already have plans to do it, but I haven’t been to the State Fair since I was a junior in high school and I was there to see the Jonas Brothers play a free concert, and my pink Motorola RAZR got water damage because we were being sprayed down with an old fire hose because it was so hot. Shane has never been, so we’re going as a fun anniversary adventure this year.
As I said before, most of the things found on fall bucket lists are things I make a habit of doing anyway, so this list was automatically going to be short. I’ll be sure to do a “fall traditions” list soon, though, in case you need ideas.
Love,
Angel
This is a great list! I wish I lived closer, I’d love to do these too!
