I honestly don’t know that I’ve ever done an outfit post on this blog, which doesn’t really surprise me considering I’ve worn uniforms to work for the past five years up until about three months ago.
If you follow me on Instagram, you can see that I’ve been trying to document my outfits on my Stories everyday (sometimes twice a day if I forgot the day before), but I don’t every share where the outfits came from.
This past week, I thought it would be fun to spend a whole week dressed up in outfits that were inspired by outfit pictures I saw (and Pinned) on Pinterest.
I really wanted to challenge myself to use and wear my clothes that I already have in ways that maybe I wouldn’t have thought to pair them. I feel like it’s so easy to get swept up in the notion that we just need all new clothes because of the cute outfits we find on Pinterest when the clothes we already have can make some seriously Pinterest-worthy looks.
I challenge you to try this, too, with your own clothes. Look for outfits you’ve already saved and see if you have pieces in your closet/dresser that could work. Try searching Pinterest for outfits based on a particular article of clothing. For instance, I just got a new yellow skirt from Modcloth and searched “Yellow skirt outfits” in the search bar and found some seriously adorable outfits.
If you do this, tag me on Instagram, I’m @CupcakeRising. I’d love to see what you come up with.
